Three masked men attempted to rob the office of a financial company in Raikot on Saturday.

Company director Randhir Singh said the thieves asked him to hand over the keys to the almirah. When he resisted, the accused opened fire in the air, then struck him with the pistol grip, wounding him. After Singh raised the alarm, the accused fled.

The thieves’ assistants were watching outside the office, he added. Assistant Deputy Inspector (ASI) Avtar Singh said a case was filed under Sections 323 (willfully causing injury), 379B (snapping), 511 (attempting to commit offenses punishable by life imprisonment) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and sections of the Arms Act. Police are scanning closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras to identify the accused.

    Uttar Pradesh reported 134 new Covid cases while 121 patients recovered on Saturday. “The state has tested 115,928 samples for Covid in the last 24 hours, and so far 11,41,69,896 samples have been tested,” Amit Mohan Prasad, additional chief secretary, Medical Health, said in a statement. Press release. According to health department data, the number of active Covid cases in Uttar Pradesh is 831 and majority of them are in home isolation.

    MUMBAI According to Central Railway, almost 78 lakh passengers bought digital tickets in May. The Zonal Railway sold 14 lakh tickets through the Indian Railways Unreserved Ticketing System mobile app in May, compared to selling 12 lakh tickets in March 2020. There has been a steady increase in the number of passengers buying tickets digitally after local rail services resume in 2021. .

    Pune district reports 60 new Covid cases in past 24 hours

    Pune: Pune district has reported 60 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. This brought the progressive tally to 1.45 million of which 1.43 million have recovered, 20,544 deaths and 318 are active cases. The city of Pune reported 32 new cases, bringing the incremental tally to 681,197 and the death toll to 9,713. PCMC reported six new Covid cases and the incremental tally rose to 347,782 and the toll s amounted to 3,627.
