On Wednesday, four armed robbers in Jandiala Guru area robbed a financial company of Rs 10.34 lakh. Although police have registered one case, further investigation is ongoing.

Gurpreet Singh (29) from Abohar in Fazilka and director of Fusion Micro Finance Limited told police that around 8:50 p.m. on Wednesday, four armed people came and pointed guns at them. Gurpreet said the accused fled with the money. He said he immediately notified the police of the incident, who filed a case under Section 379-B of the CPI against unidentified thieves.

2 vehicle lifts caught

Following investigations into a gang of vehicle drivers dismantled by police a fortnight ago, police arrested two other vehicle drivers and confiscated five bicycles based on their information. Those arrested were identified as Abshishek Singh, alias Shainki, (27) and Manpreet Singh (24), both from Kukna Khurd village.

ACP West Tushar Gupta said one of their accomplices, Navjot Singh alias Jodha, has not yet been arrested. Meanwhile, the police remanded Abhishek and Manpreet into custody. The duo had been booked under the NDPS Act in December 2018.

4 thieves detained with 8 motives

Islamabad police arrested a gang of thieves and recovered eight cell phones in their possession. The defendants were identified as Harjot Singh alias Jota, Lovepreet Singh and Onkar Singh all from Kot Khalsa and Gurdyal Singh from Hargobindpura locality.

They used to break into people’s homes and steal their cell phones. On a tip-off, the police raided and caught the accused with cell phones. A case was registered under articles 380, 411 and 34 of the CPI.
